Small Business Clarity Day
Our clarity days are practical one-day workshops designed to help you step back, think clearly and decide what matters most. They run from 10:00am - 3:00pm and include lunch, and teas and coffees.
We created them to help small businesses make sure they are solving the right problem before they spend more time, money or energy on marketing.
They also offer the opportunity to meet other small business owners. To make sure everyone gets the attention they need, we cap numbers at 10 people.
Cliftonville Hotel, Cromer │ £95 │ Lunch included
So, is this marketing training?
Yes. But that's not the whole story.
You'll learn how marketing works, how to choose the right channels and how to build a practical marketing plan.
But you'll also discover how your customers, your offer, your priorities and the way your business works all shape the marketing you actually need. We use marketing as the starting point. The bigger picture is your business.
Why we do it this way
We've worked with hundreds of small Norfolk businesses, and we've seen the same challenge come up time and time again.
There's no shortage of marketing advice. The difficult bit is knowing what's right for your business, what deserves your attention and what you can safely ignore.
That's why we don't teach marketing as a list of channels and tactics. We start with the business behind it: your customers, your offer, your priorities, your resources and what you're actually trying to achieve.

What the day looks like
Throughout the day, we'll work together on a fictional small business, building its marketing plan as we go. We then turn our attention to how you apply these principles to your business in a way that is manageable and achievable.
Get to know the business
We'll start by understanding the business we're working with. What does it do? What is it trying to achieve? What's working, and where might there be challenges?
Select the right channels
Website. Social media. Google. Email. Advertising. We'll explore different marketing channels and decide which ones make sense for our fictional business, which don't, and most importantly, why.
Understand your audience
Who are we actually trying to reach? What matters to them? What might influence their decisions? You'll see how understanding the customer starts to shape everything that follows
Look beyond the marketing
What if the business can't handle more enquiries? What if the customer journey isn't working, or the offer isn't quite right? We'll explore how what's happening elsewhere in the business can completely change the marketing plan.
Find the right message
Once we know who we're talking to, we can think about what we say. We'll look at how to turn what a business does into clear, relevant messages that speak to different audiences and give people a reason to take notice.
Get your ducks in a row
Finally, we'll cover how to turn everything we've discovered into a practical plan based on your business's goals, audience, messaging, priorities and resources.

Leave with something you can actually use
Your Business Clarity Workbook is yours to take away and build on. It brings together your thinking from the day and gives you a practical starting point for developing your own marketing plan.
Is the Small Business Clarity Day Right for you?
The Clarity Day is designed for small business owners at all sorts of stages. You don't need to have a problem to solve, and you definitely don't need to arrive knowing what you need.
You might be...
Just getting started
You have an idea or a new business and want to make good decisions from the beginning.
Ready for what's next
Your business has grown or changed and it's time to revisit who you're trying to reach, what you're offering and where you're heading.
Thinking about investing in marketing
You're considering a new website, rebrand, advertising or outside support and want to be clearer about what you need before spending the money.
Feeling a bit 'stuck'
Something isn't quite working, but you're not sure whether the answer is your marketing, your offer, your messaging or something else.
Overwhelmed by all the things you could be doing
Social media, Google, email, advertising, websites... You want to work out what actually deserves your time.
Just in need of a little bit of headspace
Nothing is necessarily wrong. You'd just value a day away from the day-to-day to work on your business rather than constantly working in it.
